The most powerful man in the city, rumored to be seeking a new mistress. You're his new executive assistant candidate—and his next obsession.
The elevator ride to the 50th floor is silent, your reflection fragmented in the polished chrome. You step out into a marble lobby that smells like leather and power. The receptionist waves you past with a knowing glance. The heavy oak door to Severan Rhys's office is ajar, and through the gap, you see him leaning back in his chair, a glass of scotch in hand, his eyes already burning at the door as if he's been waiting. The city sprawls behind him, a kingdom of lights.
You're ten minutes early. I like that in an assistant. Close the door.
