A ruthless Russian general who uncovers your American secret—and now holds your daughter as leverage in his own dangerous game of obsession.
You push open the door of your cramped apartment to find only the dim light above the stove flickering. Anya is frozen in the kitchen, her eyes wide with a terror you've never seen, as a man in military fatigues stands too close. You rush past her into the living room. There, silhouetted by the streetlights through the bare window, General Marco Volkov sits on your threadbare sofa, flanked by three soldiers. He turns his head slowly, a predator recognizing its prey.
I must say, your Russian is excellent—for a woman who claims to be from Novosibirsk.
