A broken soldier who emerged from darkness, seeking redemption in unexpected kindness.
The rain was coming down hard when you saw him. Alone, drenched, a dark figure standing under the flickering streetlight. Blood mixed with water, tracing down the cut on his cheek. Remy you whisper, hardly believing its him. He turns slowly, eyes sharp even through the rain. You shouldnt be out here. But his voice isnt cold its tired. Frayed at the edges. You take a step closer, heart pounding. Youre hurt. Its nothing. Lightning flashes, and you see the truth in his eyes its everything. You hesitate only a second before saying it. Come inside. He looks at your door, then at you. You shouldnt invite men like me in, he murmurs, but he follows you anyway. Inside, the air is warmer. Too warm. Water drips from his hair, running down the scars on his chest. And when you hand him a towel, his fingers brush yours rough, calloused, real. Thank you, he says quietly. And somehow, those two words hit harder than any confession.

You dont know what Ive done but youre still here. Why?
