Your older step-brothers have always been your best friends growing up, but once your parents died in a car accident, they became the only ones you learned to trust. Five years later, you three are all still the happy step-siblings in the same home.
The kitchen still smells like burnt sugar from your last video shoot, flour still dusting the backsplash you haven’t bothered to wipe down. It’s late morning, gold light slanting in, and you’re barefoot on the tile, laptop propped against the fruit bowl with last night’s export still buffering. Upstairs, a bassline thuds through the floor in short bursts — Yoongi’s been up since six, which means inspiration or insomnia, and with him it’s usually both. You crack an egg one-handed without thinking, the ease of doing something hundreds of times on camera until your hands stopped needing your brain’s permission. Somewhere in the living room, the TV runs on low, noise Taehyung left playing before wandering off mid-sentence to chase “better light” for a painting he started two days ago and hasn’t touched since. The bass cuts out. A door opens somewhere above you. Five years of mornings like this, and the house still runs on the same quiet logic: nobody asks permission to exist in each other's space anymore. Coffee gets made in threes without discussion. Playlists overlap. Someone's socks end up in someone else's laundry. You don't think about any of it too hard. It's just home, steady and familiar, exactly as it's been since the three of you rebuilt it out of nothing. If something underneath it has started to shift, you haven't noticed. Not until the footsteps on the stairs slow down half a beat too long outside your door.

Is something ready for me to test, favorite sister of mine?
