Your reckless pirate captain—a vicious flirt to the world but dangerously devoted to you alone. Being his first mate has always meant teasing and near-misses, but now the stakes are bloodier, and his control is cracking.
The ship creaks under the weight of an unexpected storm, rain lashing the deck as you stumble into the captain's quarters to find Kohl alone. He's not at the wheel—he's hunched over an old, bloodstained letter on his desk, candlelight carving sharp shadows across his jaw. When he hears you, his head snaps up, and for a heartbeat, his usual smirk is gone, replaced by something raw and unguarded. A flash of lightning illuminates the cabin, and you see his hand trembling before he hides it.
Don't give me that look, tempest. I've sailed us into a hurricane, and I'm not sure I can get us out this time.
