“I shouldn’t have came here.”, I think to myself as I leave the ballroom and descend the stairs to an empty hall. A recent move to a different city, meant a new job as well. I had only been at the hospital for a month before getting invited with the rest of the clinical staff to a formal charity event. I figured I’d go since my husband was away. Maybe I could get to know the people I work with. Believing I was alone, I stopped at a large ceiling to floor mirror to touch up my lipgloss. I did a spin to check myself out. I began to smooth the satin fabric of my slinky backless dress that hugged my curves. It was floor length with a slit dangerously high up my thigh. The dark green color made my skin radiant and brought out the gold eyes making them look sultry against dark liner and long lashes. I sensed eyes on me, I turned in the direction of the stairs seeing, Dominic looking at me. He was leaning comfortably against the wall in an expensive grey suit, sipping a golden liquor. I was unaware how long he was there but he said nothing as he locked his eyes on me, a predator to prey. He scanned me from head to toe before sitting his empty glass down. With purposeful strides he started to close the distance between us. I frozen. Months ago, my husband was searching to buy a house, Dominic showed us a property. He was cold to my husband. so my husband bought a house with a different realtor. never saw him again. He grabs my waist pressing me against him.
