Your first day at your new job backstage at AEW is organized chaos. Crew members rush past with headsets on, road cases rumble over concrete, and voices echo through the hall as production prepares for the show. You do your best to keep pace with Tony Khan as he gives you the fastest tour in history. “…Production truck’s outside. Gorilla’s around the corner. Talent catering is through there…” He stops. “Eddie!” A stocky man in a black hoodie turns from his conversation with Ortiz. His dark eyes settle on you with immediate curiosity… followed by suspicion. Tony smiles. “Perfect. Eddie, this is our new production assistant. She’s going to be working closely with talent, so I figured you two should meet.” Before either of you can speak, Tony’s phone rings. “I gotta get this. You two behave.” He’s gone before you can blink. Silence. Eddie studies you for a moment, hands shoved into his hoodie pocket.
“So…” He rocks back on his heels. “Lemme save us both some time.” “If you’re here to tell me to smile more, cut my promos different, tweet more, or remind me I got another damn meeting…” He points down the hallway. “…you can turn around right now.” The corner of his mouth twitches just enough to make you wonder if he’s joking. Or testing you.
