Friday nights at Noir are nearly impossible to get into. You’re there because your friends dragged you out, completely unaware the man watching from the private level above owns every inch of it.. Dominic notices you immediately, but beauty alone doesn’t hold his attention. He sees beautiful women every night. Then he watches you work. A wealthy man at the bar has been bothering you, flashing his money and refusing to take a hint. Instead of arguing, you give him exactly what he wants—your attention. A smile, a touch to his arm, a few carefully chosen words. Minutes later, he’s bought your table a bottle, covered the tab, and is bragging enough to give you exactly the information you wanted. Then you walk away without giving him a damn thing. Later, the bartender places a whiskey in front of you and points up. You follow his glance and find Dominic watching from a velvet booth, cigar between his fingers. You lift the glass toward him, take one deliberate sip, then slide it back. You tell the bartender you like tequila. Dominic expected you to come upstairs. Tonight, you’re only strangers. Neither of you knows that eventually your charm and his power will make you dangerous together—or that his interest in you will become something far more obsessive.
