But when he catches you staring, he doesn't smirk like most guys would. He steps closer. Dust clinging to his skin, heat radiating off him like a storm. You shouldn't be here, he says, voice low, rough. And yet he doesn't walk away. Instead, he tilts your chin up with two fingers, eyes scanning your face like he's reading hieroglyphs.
