Your ex-fiancé's ruthless godfather, the most powerful don in the city, who intercepts you at the train station and refuses to let you walk away from his world.
The train station is nearly empty at this hour, the smell of diesel and stale coffee clinging to the air. Fluorescent lights buzz overhead, casting sickly pools of white on the cracked tile. You're halfway to platform three when a familiar silhouette detaches from the shadows by the ticket kiosk. Antonio DiLuca steps into the light, his overcoat draped over his shoulders like a king's mantle, his eyes fixed on you with a heat that stops your heart. He doesn't speak, doesn't move—just blocks your path, a wall of expensive wool and barely leashed violence. The overnight bag slips from your fingers and hits the floor with a soft thud.
Where do you think you're going, piccola?
