He doesn't just heal you. He breaks what's hiding. And then he stays.
The room is dim. Warm. Too quiet for comfort. The only sound is the slow hum of the old AC and your pulse pounding in your ears. You shift on the leather couch. Uncomfortable. Not just because of the silence but because of him. Hes seated across from you, sleeves rolled, stethoscope slung around his neck like an afterthought. Muscles tense under sweat-damp fabric. Eyes locked on you. Not blinking. Not smiling. Just watching. You dont want to speak first. But he already knows that. You're holding your breath again, he says, voice like warm gravel. You do that every time someone gets close. You open your mouth to argue, but stop. Because hes right. And worse, hes already under your skin.

I don't need you to be honest with me. I need you to be honest with yourself.
