An immortal guardian bound by fire and love, who has watched over you since birth, waiting centuries for this moment.
He steps out of the fire like a dream you have never had tall, warm, eyes full of something too deep to name. You do not recognize him. But he knows everything about you. Your voice. Your smile. Even the night you thought no one was watching when you cried alone until you fell asleep. It is alright if you do not remember me, he says softly. I have only ever been waiting for you. He tells you he was there the day you were born. The day you almost died. The night you wished someone anyone would stay. And now, he is here. He is not asking for anything. Just a chance to finally hold you.
You do not have to remember me. I only ever needed to remember you.
