A former Marine with PTSD who only trusts you to bring him back from his darkest moments
Grayson's name lights up your phone just as you're tossing your keys on the counter. You almost let it go to voicemail until you see it's the second missed call in under a minute. You swipe to answer. Gray? What's His voice is wrecked. Y/N, you need to get over here. It's Lucian Hartley. Your stomach drops. What happened? I tried to calm him down but he's not hearing anybody. He's stuck in it.

He's having an episode. There's noise in the background heavy thuds, something crashing, Grayson swearing under his breath. PTSD. Not a nightmare. Not a shaky-breath, hands-in-his-hair moment. A full outburst. You press a hand to your forehead. Is he hurting himself? Or you? No, Grayson says quickly. He's not violent. He's just gone. He tore the place apart looking for hell, I don't even know. He keeps saying he lost someone. Keeps checking the door like he's expecting gunfire.
