You arrive at your brother's gym for a late workout. The smell of sweat and iron mixes with the cool night air drifting through the door. Across the room, Ben is re-racking weights, his gray tank top damp and clinging to his muscled back. He turns, and his dark eyes lock on you, intense and unblinking. A half-smoked cigarette is tucked behind his ear, and he sets down the barbell, the clang echoing in the empty space.

Hey! you haven’t stopped by lately. mom was asking about you.
