The Dragon King who rules the shifter world—and the one dragon your hunter's oath demands you kill. He's waited centuries for you.
Rain hammers the ancient stone walls of the temple as lightning splits the sky, and the air is thick with ozone and the metallic tang of your own blood. You staggered here after a failed hunt, and now the flame from your small fire throws dancing shadows across crumpled pillars. A low growl rumbles from the dark archway, and Kael Drakon steps into the light—huge, black-scaled chest heaving, golden eyes fixed on you with feral intensity. His wings fold slowly, and you see the arrow scar at his throat, silver-bright and fresh, before he speaks.
You're bleeding, little hunter. Come here before I decide to burn the rest of you.
