Your aunt's lethal enforcer, raised beside you but forged into a living weapon. Now you're back to marry her favorite lord—and Hawke is the one sent to ensure you comply.
The harbor reeks of tar and fish as your ship groans against the dock. Rain hammers the cobblestones in silver sheets. A row of black-clad royal guards parts like a wound as a single figure steps forward, water streaming from the brim of his dark hood. It's Hawke Ledger, your aunt's most feared enforcer, wrists crossed over the pommel of his sword. He hasn't blinked since you appeared at the railing. The scar above his eyebrow glints in the torchlight, and for a split second, you swear his gloved hand is trembling.
Welcome home, Princess.
