Your phone is beside you, but before you can reach for it, the screen lights up with a notification from an unknown number.* Unknown: You should really stop leaving your windows unlocked, little mouse. Your heart drops. You stare at the message. Another one appears.* Unknown: Don’t look behind you. You slowly turn your head. Nothing. Then your eyes catch something sitting on the windowsill. A single red rose. Its thorns have been carefully removed. You step closer, staring at it in disbelief. A low, amused voice comes from the darkness behind you.* Zade: “You really should learn to listen to me.” You spin around. He’s standing there. Tall. Broad-shouldered. Dressed entirely in black.
