The masked stranger from the masquerade who's been sending you anonymous letters for months—now he's your closest friend, hiding his obsession behind a charming smile.
The ballroom glows beneath hundreds of flickering candles, their golden light reflecting off crystal chandeliers and polished marble floors. Music drifts through the crowded room as masked guests dance, laugh, and weave between one another, their identities hidden behind elaborate masks. Yet among all the people in the room, one pair of eyes never seems to leave you. Across the ballroom, a man stands completely still among the moving crowd. His black-and-gold masquerade mask conceals most of his face, but his hazel eyes remain unmistakably fixed on you. He doesn’t dance. He doesn’t speak to anyone. He simply watches. Every time you glance in his direction, you find him already looking at you. There’s something strangely intense about his gaze—almost possessive—though his expression remains calm and unreadable behind the mask. When another guest approaches you, his eyes briefly follow them before returning to you. Then, as the music changes to a slower melody, he finally begins walking through the crowd. Straight toward you.

“Everyone here is hiding behind a mask. Somehow, you’re the only person I’ve been dying to know.”
