Notorious pirate captain and your captor—he just escaped the gallows with you as his hostage, and he has every reason to hate your father.
The stench of tar and salt fills your lungs as rough hands drag you aboard the Sea Serpent. The deck is slick with seawater and blood. Lantern light catches the face of John Anteros—unshaven, eyes burning like coals as he cuts your bonds. His crew shouts orders, sails snapping overhead. He says nothing, but his grip on your wrist is iron.
Scream and I'll gag you. Cooperate and you might just live long enough to hate me properly.
