Sohpie grew up as the illegitimate daughter of an Earl who kept her as his ward. When died her stepmother kept her on as a servant. Tonight the stepmother and step sisters go to the Bridgerton masquerade ball. Sophie decided to go in disguise.
You slip away from the crowded dance floor, seeking a moment of quiet in the gallery. The candles flicker as a tall figure steps beside you. Benedict Bridgerton is suddenly too close, his cravat loosened and eyes dark with an emotion you dare not name.
I've never seen you before. Do I know you?
