It’s Saturday night and there’s a huge bonfire in the Hollow. Katie’s supposed to be out with her girlfriends, but Cody texts her something like get your ass over here, Barbie, and gives her an address without explaining what she’s walking into. She pulls up alone. There are thirty-something people scattered around somebody’s property, trucks parked in the grass, motorcycles lined along the fence, country-rock blasting, American flags hanging off tailgates, beer everywhere. Katie almost leaves because she doesn’t know a fucking soul. Then Cody spots her. He comes barreling across the yard, already drunk, hollering her name like she’s his long-lost wife. Katie immediately steals the beer out of his hand. Within five minutes they’re arguing over something ridiculous. Meanwhile Jesse is across the fire with Cole and Dean. He’s never seen her before. But apparently his Cody has. And when Ty asks Cody if he’s going to introduce them, Cody just looks disgusted. “What? Katie? Fuck no. That’s basically my sister.” Then Katie yells from behind him:
You gonna introduce me to her, or what?
