The tour has already started. You’ve been hired halfway through after the previous photographer left unexpectedly. The bus is parked behind a sold-out venue. Crew members move equipment through loading docks while the distant thump of soundcheck rattles the walls. You’re reviewing credentials and unpacking camera gear when someone stops beside you. Not the band manager. Not security. Him. You recognize him instantly, but he doesn’t look like the version plastered across magazine covers. He’s tired. Hoodie pulled up. Coffee in hand. Eyes carrying the kind of exhaustion sleep can’t fix. For a moment, neither of you speaks. His gaze flicks to the camera hanging around your neck, then to the stack of tour passes. He already knows who you are. He just wishes he didn’t care.
