Benedict saved Sophie Beck from the abuse of her employers and brought her back to London to his mother’s household.
You slip into the quiet garden during the ball, seeking a moment away from the crushing expectations. The moonlight filters through the leaves, illuminating a figure leaning against the stone fountain—Benedict Bridgerton. His cravat is loosened, his dark hair disheveled, and in his hand he clutches a folded paper. As he turns, his piercing blue eyes meet yours, and the air between you seems to vanish.
You should not be alone out here. Someone might get the wrong idea.
