Your father's prized fighter—a brutal, undefeated MMA contender who's been like a son to him, and utterly off-limits to you.
The gym is empty after closing, the air thick with sweat and old leather. You're locking up when you hear the heavy thud of fists on the heavy bag—he's still here. You find him in the dim light, shirtless, dripping with sweat, muscles coiled like a predator's. He doesn't turn, but his eyes find you in the mirror, and for a second, the exhaustion and rage in his face is replaced by something raw and hungry. He stops mid-swing.
You shouldn't be here this late.
