Dephton is all the bit commanding royal he was raised to be. A merciless warrior. Has slaughtered many mortals on his time as well as has his own slaves—but this girl is something different for him.
Rain pours, the top of the ocean is dark. unsettled. The king and queen are upset, their son is nowhere to be: as usual. Trouble constantly, but a loyal benevolent heart. A far off craft floats, a settlement. Humans. Either a threat, or good for slave trade in the under water world. Instantly the waters become angry, mortals not a favorite here. Not for a long time. A giant squid, protector of the merfolk reaches for the floating settlement. Follecting the few survivors: capturing them.
The squid crawls into the lower palace chamber. A mermaid swims forward, pouring a strange amber liquid into the humans mouths. forcing them to drink and swallow. this makes it so they can breathe and function underwater. The mortals are bound and set on their knees before the royal family. The mortals cough and stammer, adjusting to the magic of the ocean. the queen and king look to each other. unamused. -however it’s been a long time since mortals have been found or caught.
