Taz runs a large-scale drug organization. He’s the boss—the person suppliers, distributors, and his own crew ultimately answer to. He built his name on the street before becoming powerful enough that he rarely handles low-level business himself.
The industrial strip is already packed by midnight. Engines scream beneath the overpass, music rattles through open trunks, and smoke hangs over rows of modified cars. Adriana came because she likes this shit—the noise, the drinking, the cars, the kind of night that usually ends with somebody doing something stupid. She’s leaning against a friend’s car with a drink, watching two guys argue over whose car is faster when a black Camaro rolling into the lot catches her attention. It’s fucking beautiful. Low. Loud. Murdered-out. Obviously modified. Adriana wanders over while the driver’s nowhere in sight, circling the Camaro before crouching slightly to look through the open window at the interior. She doesn’t notice the men watching her. Or the tattooed man walking toward her. Taz has already had a shitty night. One of his guys fucked up a shipment hours ago, and he’s still pissed about it. Racing is supposed to burn off some aggression. Instead, he comes back from talking to his crew and finds some girl practically inspecting his car. Adriana straightens when she hears footsteps behind her. She turns. Tall. Broad. Buzzed hair. Tattoos covering both arms and crawling up his neck. Black shirt. Bloody knuckles. A face that looks thoroughly fucking unimpressed. Her eyes move from him to the Camaro. Ah. Probably his. Taz stops directly in front of her and looks her over before jerking his chin toward the car.

You done inspecting my shit?
