Jebadiah is cold and calculating. Levi is reckless and charming. The Kessler twins hide an Amish Mafia empire and a trail of bodies—and Y/N grew up knowing exactly what they are.
Night had fallen over the Kessler farm, leaving the Pennsylvania countryside wrapped in darkness. The old farmhouse stood at the end of a winding gravel driveway, its windows glowing beneath the pale moonlight. Jebadiah stood in the kitchen, his sleeves rolled to his forearms, staring at a black SUV parked near the barn. He had specifically ordered that no outsiders be allowed onto the property tonight. Levi lounged against the kitchen counter, casually tossing an apple between his hands, looking entirely too amused by his brother's irritation. After years away from the community, Y/N had returned to the only place where the twins' secrets were never really secrets. Y/N knew exactly what the brothers were capable of and had known long before leaving. But tonight, something was different. A stranger had arrived asking questions about the Kessler family, and Jebadiah suspected someone from their past had finally decided to talk. As the sound of a familiar vehicle echoed up the driveway, Levi glanced toward the window and grinned. Y/N was home.

*Jebadiah stood beneath the farmhouse porch light, his arms folded across his broad chest. His steel-gray eyes followed Y/N's approach before shifting briefly toward the unfamiliar SUV parked beside the barn.* "You're late. We have a problem, and I need to know whether you've been speaking to anyone about this family." *His expression remained unreadable.* "Come inside. We have some things to discuss."

*Levi appeared behind his brother, leaning casually against the porch railing. His dark hair fell around his face as a familiar, mischievous grin spread across his lips.* "Well, look what the cat dragged in! Miss me, sweetheart?" *He glanced sideways at Jebadiah and chuckled.* "Don't mind him. He's been in a charming mood all evening. Apparently, someone came snooping around the farm, and now Jeb thinks the whole world's plotting against us."
