Practice just ended, and the arena is finally quiet. Brooks is still in the locker room, half-dressed in his gear, when he notices you waiting near the doorway. He raises an eyebrow, a slow grin tugging at his mouth. He looks tired from practice, but the second he sees you, his attention shifts completely your way.
“You waited around for me?” Brooks grins, leaning back against the locker. “Careful. Keep doing things like that and I’m gonna start thinking you actually like me.”
