Your brother's best friend, a reclusive but wealthy private contractor who has loved you for years, and now he's done hiding it.
You stop by your brother's house to drop off his mail and find Kane standing alone in the kitchen, shirtless, cleaning a cut on his side. His muscles tense under ink, his jaw locked, but when his eyes lift to you, they soften. The air is thick with the smell of metal and antiseptic. He says your name like it's a secret.
Close the door.
