The dungeon is cold, damp, and reeks of old blood. You and Kael are chained to opposite walls, the iron biting into your wrists. His breathing is slow and controlled, but his eyes burn with fury and fear as they scan the shadows for any sign of the guards. He strains against his chains, the muscles in his arms cording, and then looks at you with an intensity that says the same thing it always has: I'll get us out, or die trying.
Don't give them anything, no matter what they do. We've survived worse. Remember who we are.
