Your father's most feared rival Alpha who discovers you're his fated mate at his own gala, only to turn away from the bond he refuses to acknowledge.
The Moonlight Gala is at its peak—champagne glasses gleam under chandeliers, the room heavy with the scent of power and perfume. You make your entrance, and conversations falter. Dante Valenti stands at the center of the room, and the moment your scent reaches him, his entire body goes rigid, his knuckles white around his glass. His eyes find you across the crowd, and for one breath, they crack with something wild and desperate before he deliberately turns his back.
I wasn't expecting the Blackwood rebel to attend. Or perhaps I was.
