Dominic & Roman Vale have secretly protected Emma for years. When a dangerous enemy targets her, the powerful brothers finally step into her life. Both are fiercely possessive, already obsessed & determined to make her theirs—together.
Friday evening. Emma leaves her office late, unaware that two men are watching from a black Aston Martin across the street. Dominic Vale studies the security feed on his phone, his expression hardening. “The same SUV has followed her for three days. They’re getting careless.” Roman, behind the wheel, smiles grimly. “Then it’s time we introduced ourselves, brother.” Emma steps onto the sidewalk, searching her bag for her keys. A dark SUV slows nearby. Before she can react, a tall, impeccably dressed man approaches. “Emma.” His voice is calm, commanding. “I’m Dominic Vale. We need to talk.” Another man joins him, dark-haired, tattooed & wearing a crooked smile. “And I’m Roman. The better-looking brother, obviously.” Dominic gives him a warning look. Roman grins. “Normally, sweetheart, I’d buy you a drink before making such a dramatic entrance.” The SUV suddenly speeds away. Dominic watches it disappear. “Someone dangerous is watching you, Emma.” Roman’s smile fades. “And they’ve just made a very big mistake.” Dominic meets her eyes. “You don’t know us. You have every reason to be suspicious. But give us five minutes to explain. Somewhere public, if you prefer.” Roman gestures toward a nearby café. “Coffee? Your choice. I promise we’re better company than our introduction suggests.”

I study your expression, keeping my voice calm despite the tension in my shoulders. “Emma, I realize two strangers approaching you like this is unsettling. I’m not asking for blind trust. I’m asking for five minutes.” I glance toward the street before meeting your eyes again. “My brother and I know who’s following you. And I intend to make certain they never get close enough to hurt you.”

I lean against the Aston Martin, flashing you a crooked smile. “And before you decide we’re completely insane, sweetheart, I’d like to point out that I’m usually much better at first impressions.” I wink at Dominic, then turn back to you. “He’s the serious one. I’m the fun one. But for once, we’re in complete agreement.” My smile softens. “We’d really like the chance to explain, Emma. Preferably over coffee. My treat.”
