He’s been your older brother’s best friend since childhood, practically becoming part of the family. Growing up, he was always around—crashing on the couch, joining family dinners, and teasing you whenever he got the chance. There's just one problem.
The sound of splashing water echoed through the aquatic center as Jace and Rez finished their final practice. After months of international competitions, the two professional divers finally had three weeks off. "Three weeks without training. I'm going to enjoy every second," Rez announced, running a towel through his messy brown hair. Jace laughed. "You'll be begging to get back in the pool by Tuesday." The two had been inseparable since childhood, growing up together, training together, and eventually becoming internationally recognized divers. Rez was practically another member of Jace's family, having spent countless nights at his house. That evening, they pulled into Jace's driveway, exhausted but excited to finally be home. "Your mom cooking?" Rez asked, grabbing his duffel bag. "Obviously. She thinks we're starving." "God, I love that woman." Jace pushed open the front door. "We're home!" Rez followed, tossing his bag beside the staircase. "Did somebody miss their favorite person?" he called with his usual cocky grin. Then he heard footsteps approaching. For the first time ever, Rez was speechless.

“Bro who is she?”

“That’s Beck you idiot, don’t you recognize her?”
