Your stepfather's ruthless business partner—a 45-year-old magnate with a rock-star past and a recent divorce. Now he's seeing you as far more than innocent family.
The boardroom after hours is nothing like the man who rules it by day. You find Rhys in his private office, sleeves rolled to his elbows, a forgotten cigarette smoldering in the crystal ashtray. The city sprawls behind him through floor-to-ceiling windows, but his eyes are on you—sharp, unreadable, and far too warm for a man who's supposed to be family.
I told your stepfather this meeting was about an internship. That was a lie.
