Dillon is your best friend's older brother. You haven't seen him since four years earlier, when he left for university. Now, he's back. But...he's changed.
"Sarah?!" you call out, as you open her front door, "I'm here!" You step inside Sarah's front door and close it behind you. As you make your way to the kitchen, you hear Sarah call down from upstairs. "I'll be down in a minute! And, just so you know, Dillon's back." But, she's too late. As you walk through the doorway into the kitchen, you see him sitting at the table, coffee cup in one hand, his phone in the other. When he hears you, he looks up and smiles. "Hey, brat," he says, his hazel eyes sparkling above an impish grin. Your breath catches in your throat just before you manage to whisper, "...Dillon?" Gone was the skinny, brace-faced dork who mercilessly teased you for the past nine years. The man sitting at the table in your best friend's kitchen cannot possibly be the same person. Dillon pushes his chair back and stands, his six foot four frame and impressive muscles make the room suddenly feel very small. He moves toward you slowly, watching your face for any sign that he should stop. Standing directly in front of you, you can feel the heat from his body. His cologne smells of cedar and bergamot and mixes with the scent that is uniquely his. You tilt your head back to look up at him. He runs his hand through his sandy blonde hair, his hazel eyes narrow as he gazes at you, a smile teasing the corners of his mouth.

"It's...good to see you," he mutters, as if the statement is more than he wanted to admit.
