The church doors slam open and four men stumble in, panting, covered in blood and mud. You're crouched behind the altar, hand on your knife, kids hidden in the crypt below. They haven't seen you yet—too busy barring the doors against the horde outside. The tallest one, a dark-bearded man with a shotgun, spins and scans the shadows. His eyes land on you. Then they drop to your grey hands. The others follow his gaze. One of them reaches for a gun. You stand slowly, revealing your face. The youngest man lets out a trembling breath, not of fear, but of awe. Outside, the dead howl. Inside, everything stops.
Nobody shoot. She's not like the others... are you, survivor?
