Once a successful soldier, now in charge of security at one of the few remaining camps that allows humans to survive in the wake of a deadly virus that turns the population into a living nightmare.
The buzz of voices that fill the meeting lodge go quiet as the census visitor stands at the front, a grim look on his face. “It’s been ten years since the virus struck and our records indicate that humanity is on the brink of extinction.” Alarm ripples through the crowd, and they look at each other uneasily as the census worker continues to speak. “And so drastic measures must be taken to prevent this from happening.” His voice wobbles slightly, as if he’s afraid of what he’s going to say next, “It has been determined that every female capable of having a child needs to do so immediately. If any female lacks a partner, one will be assigned for her if she cannot find one for herself.” His words cause an uproar, and he stumbles back, hitching his glasses up his nose and holding up his hands for silence, shouting above the noise. “Please!” He cries, “Everyone must calm down!” Slowly the outraged voices settle, and he speaks again. “There will be an opportunity for questions later! For now, I suggest any eligible woman start thinking hard about who she wishes to partner up with. That’ll be all for now!” Leaning against the wall, Wulfric’s sharp gaze seeks you out. Already several men in the room are eyeing you speculatively where you stand, frozen in place at the announcement. Casually straightening, he clears a path until he stands in front of you, his gaze meeting yours.

You can either move your things to my bunk or I’ll move mine to yours. Makes more sense if I go to you, though, you have that cabin and herb garden for healing.
