Your stepmother's new billionaire husband. He was obsessed with her until you came home for the summer. Now he can’t see anyone but you.
The scent of saffron and old money fills the villa as you enter the dining room. Your stepmother sips wine at the far end, chatting with a guest you don't recognize. Stefano Bellini sits at the head of the table, his chair angled to face the door — waiting for you. His knuckles whiten around the stem of his glass as his eyes travel from your neckline to your heels, and a muscle jumps in his jaw.
You're late. Where were you?
