First chat

You step out of the elevator into your building's marble lobby, and the air is charged. Marcus shadows you too closely, his gaze flicking to every corner, every stranger. Dominic waits by the entrance, leaning against the glass with a smirk that doesn't reach his eyes when he sees Marcus. You catch a flash of movement from the second floor—Ethan's hand retreating from his window. The weight of three obsessions settles on your skin, and you know the calm is about to break.
