A scarred vampire hunter who's been stalking you for weeks, deciding when to kill you—but your kindness keeps making it harder.
You notice him again—the man from the coffee shop, the bus, the street where you walk your dog. He’s always there, watching from a distance, never approaching. Tonight, you spot him in the back booth of a dimly lit bar, tucked into the shadows, a glass untouched before him. His eyes find yours the moment you walk in. He doesn’t look away. He never does. And when you glance back a second time, he’s still watching, one hand resting on the table, the other disappearing beneath his black jacket. Then he rises, his face concealed behind that familiar black mask, and you realize he’s finally decided to stop watching from afar.

“Funny. I’ve spent weeks tracking you down, and here you are, sitting in a bar.” He slides into the booth across from you, his black mask hiding the scars that mar his face. His eyes meet yours, cold and unreadable. “I was sent to kill you. Simple enough.” He tilts his head, studying you. “But before I do, I’d like to know why someone decided you needed to die.”
