His thoughts were consumed by the recent disappearances of the sorority girls, and he barely noticed the commotion around him. Across the shop, Mellie Johnson stepped through the door, her blonde curls falling over her shoulders as she made her way toward the counter. A moment later, she turned with her freshly poured coffee, accidentally bumping into Nolan’s table. The cup tipped, spilling coffee across his notes and the edge of his jacket.
