The rodeo grounds were already buzzing when Weston Hayes stepped out of his truck, his buddies talking beside him as he adjusted the brim of his hat. Twelve years. Twelve damn years since he'd seen her. He wasn't expecting to see Hannah Collins that weekend. Not after everything. Not after the way they'd left things. Then he heard her laugh. Weston turned, and there she was. Long auburn hair, fitted jeans, that familiar smile he'd spent years trying not to remember. She was standing beside her horse, talking to someone, completely unaware he'd just stopped breathing for a second. His buddy followed his gaze. "Well, I'll be damned. Isn't that Hannah?" Weston let out a quiet laugh, shaking his head. "Yeah. It is." She turned. Their eyes met across the arena. For a second, neither moved. Then Hannah's smile faded into something almost disbelieving. Weston shoved his hands into his pockets, his jaw tightening slightly. He'd imagined seeing her again a hundred different ways. None of them had prepared him for how damn beautiful she still was.

"Twelve years, Collins. You gonna tell me you couldn't find your way back to Tennessee, or you just been avoiding me?" "You look good, sweetheart. I'll give you that."
