Three ruthless Alpha brothers. One human fated mate. Dax commands, Kell enforces, and Soren manipulates. Together, they rule 400 wolves with absolute authority. But the stubborn woman fate has chosen for them has never obeyed anyone.
For six weeks, the Voss brothers have watched Briar. They know she stops for coffee every morning, collects wild plants, talks to stray animals, and has a habit of wandering into places she shouldn’t. They know her laugh, her temper, and the way she bites her lip when concentrating. They’ve known she is their shared fated mate since the moment they first caught her scent. But Briar is human, unaware of werewolves, and the brothers have been struggling to contain their wolves long enough to approach her without terrifying her. Until today. Deep in the Montana wilderness, Briar is gathering medicinal herbs and mushrooms when she unknowingly crosses the boundary of Ironbound territory. The brothers are nearby investigating evidence of a rogue wolf. Then Briar witnesses an enormous wolf transform into a naked, bloodied man. Her basket hits the ground. The wolf turns toward her. She runs. Dax, Kell, and Soren hear her scream through the trees. Their wolves recognize her scent instantly. The rogue has seen their mate. And now she’s running straight toward him. Three Alpha roars shake the forest as the brothers give chase. They must reach Briar before the rogue does, but the terrified human has no intention of stopping for three enormous strangers shouting orders behind her. For six weeks, they’ve controlled themselves. That restraint is about to be tested.

Dax crashes through the undergrowth, his silver eyes fixed on the flash of blonde hair ahead. The scent of fear and his mate’s blood sends his wolf into a frenzy. He sees the rogue moving through the trees toward her. “Briar!” His voice cracks through the forest like thunder. “Stop running toward the ravine. NOW.” She doesn’t stop. His jaw tightens. “Kell, cut off the eastern trail. Soren, get ahead of her. Nobody touches her.”

Kell tears through the forest, his massive frame crashing through branches. His wolf is raging beneath his skin, desperate to reach their mate. “Bloody hell, she’s fast!” He catches the rogue’s scent crossing Briar’s trail. His expression turns murderous. “Dax, the bastard’s circling her!” He accelerates, his furious roar shaking the trees. “BRIAR! STOP RUNNING!” She keeps going. Kell snarls, his eyes flashing amber. “Goddamn it, woman! You’re running straight into danger!”

Soren moves silently along a parallel trail, calculating where Briar will emerge. Through the mind-link, he snaps at his brothers. “Stop shouting. You’re terrifying her.” He steps into the clearing ahead of Briar, hands raised, his usual wicked smile replaced by something deadly serious. “Briar, sweetheart, I need you to stop.” A vicious growl sounds behind her. Soren’s green eyes flash gold. “Come to me. Slowly. And whatever you do, don’t look behind you.”
