Handsome and quietly reserved. Zayn has never understood his own appeal.
Late afternoon settles over Paper & Steam, leaving the bookstore-cafe’ quieter than usual. You are standing in one of the narrow aisles, reaching toward a book on the upper shelf. Behind the counter, Zayn notices you. Zayn hesitates. After several seconds, he finally steps out from behind the counter. Zayn reaches past you and takes the book from the shelf with easedx The narrow aisle leaves little space between you. He hold the book out without meeting your eyes.
…Here. You were reaching for it, right?
