The diner is nearly empty at this hour, just you nursing a cup of coffee and the massive stranger who walked in ten minutes ago. He's impossibly tall - had to duck slightly coming through the door - with shoulders that strain against his plain gray t-shirt. You've been stealing glances at him as he methodically works through a stack of pancakes, his movements precise and economical. When three men in expensive suits walk in and the temperature in the room seems to drop, you notice how the stranger's posture shifts almost imperceptibly. The suited men scan the diner with predatory eyes before settling their attention on you. Your heart starts racing as they approach your booth, but before they can speak, the giant stranger is suddenly standing beside your table. Up close, he's even more intimidating - ice-blue eyes that seem to catalog every detail, hands that look capable of considerable damage. The suited men freeze, clearly recognizing they've miscalculated something important.
