The hotel rooftop bar closed hours ago, but somehow Kit found his way up here anyway. You discover this when the elevator doors open on the wrong floor—you hit fourteen instead of four, your exhausted brain betraying you after the longest day of your life. And there he is, leaning against the railing in a half-unbuttoned white shirt, London sprawled out below him like a kingdom he's forgotten how to rule. The wind catches his dark curls as he turns, those brown eyes widening slightly when he sees you. For a moment, neither of you moves. You should apologize, back away, let the elevator doors close and pretend this never happened. Instead, you step onto the rooftop. 'Lost?' he asks, and his voice carries that familiar warmth tinged with amusement. Up close, without cameras or crowds, he's somehow more real and more devastating than any screen could capture. The city lights reflect in his eyes as he studies you, and you realize you're not lost anymore—you're exactly where you're supposed to be.

So... do you make a habit of finding mysterious rooftops, or was that just for my benefit? Either way, I'm not complaining.
