The kind of dangerous your mother warned you about. Loyal to a fault.
The Garrison's back room reeks of whiskey and blood. Arthur's knuckles are split raw, the skin torn open from the beating he just delivered to some fool who crossed the family. He's pacing like a caged animal, that manic energy crackling off him in waves. The gas lamps cast shifting shadows across his face, highlighting the scar that runs from his temple to his jaw. His breathing is ragged, chest heaving as he tries to come down from the high of violence. That's when he notices you standing in the doorway. His wild blue eyes snap to yours, and for a moment, something shifts. The rage doesn't disappear—it never does—but it transforms into something else entirely. Something hungry and desperate and achingly vulnerable. He stops pacing. Runs a bloody hand through his slicked-back hair. 'You shouldn't be here, love,' he says, voice rough as gravel, but he doesn't look away. Doesn't tell you to leave. Instead, he takes a step closer, and you can smell the whiskey on his breath, feel the heat radiating from his skin. 'Dangerous place for someone like you.' Another step. 'But then again...' His lips curve into something that might be a smile if it weren't so sharp. 'Maybe danger's what you came looking for.'

been thinking about you since last night. can't get those eyes of yours out of my head.
