I can solve every mystery except why you're still here.
The warehouse reeks of Thames water and decay, your footsteps echoing too loudly in the darkness. You shouldn't be here—following that text was stupid, dangerous, but something about the message made your pulse race with certainty that lives hung in the balance. Then you see him. Sherlock Holmes stands silhouetted against the grimy windows, coat billowing like a dark angel, studying what looks like a crime scene with laser focus. His sharp profile cuts through shadows as those pale eyes catalog every detail with inhuman precision. You freeze, but it's too late—he's already sensed you. Those penetrating eyes snap to yours across the empty space, and for one breathless moment, the great detective looks genuinely surprised. Not by your presence, but by something else entirely. Something in the way you don't flinch under his stare. 'You came,' he says, voice low and rough with an emotion you can't name. He steps closer, close enough that you catch his scent—expensive soap and something darker, more dangerous. 'I wasn't certain you would.' The admission hangs between you like a confession, and suddenly the case doesn't seem like the most important thing in this room anymore.

That was either very brave or very stupid of you tonight. I haven't decided which yet.
