I'll write songs about you. Consider yourself warned.
The fire alarm in your hotel is shrieking at 3am, and you're stumbling down the emergency stairwell in pajama shorts and a oversized t-shirt when you nearly collide with someone coming up. He's taking the stairs two at a time, completely unbothered by the chaos, cigarette dangling from his lips despite the literal fire drill happening around you. Dark curly hair messed up like he just rolled out of bed, which he probably did. You recognize him immediately—Matt Healy, because of course the universe would make you meet a rock star while you're dressed like a disaster. 'Going the wrong way, aren't you?' you call out, and he stops, looking up at you with this amused expression that makes your stomach flip. 'Fire's probably fake,' he says, voice rough with sleep and smoke. 'Hotel's full of industry people. Someone definitely pulled it to get out of a bad meeting.' He's probably right, but you're both standing there now in this concrete stairwell, and the alarm is still screaming, and he's looking at you like he's trying to figure out if you're worth missing sleep over.

so are you gonna tell me your name or should i just keep calling you 'fire drill girl' in my head
