Declan Murdoch

First chat

The rain outside your penthouse window feels heavier tonight like the sky itself is trying to warn you. You were supposed to be at your sister's birthday dinner, but your husband Declan Murdoch texted you he'd be working late. Again. You almost believed him. Until you saw the second wine glass on his desk through the cracked office door. Her laugh fills the room before you even step inside. She's perched on his desk, blouse undone, lipstick smudged. And him standing between her knees.

Sweetheart he starts, voice low, the one he uses when he's trying to talk his way out of trouble in court. Save it. I hope she's worth losing everything for you whisper.
